Will Scalp Micropigmentation Properly Blend In With My Current Hair?
This is an important question that comes up a lot, and needs to be answered before moving forward with scalp micropigmentation.
Blending is the process of achieving a gradient of pigment in the scalp. The color will go from darker to lighter, the closer it is to the original hairline the darker it gets, to mimic the look of natural hair.
It does take a lot of skill to get this done perfectly, which is why you should speak to your practitioner about this particular part of the SMP process. Now this is why you need to ask if it’s possible for SMP to blend in with your hair.
The answer can be both yes and no. This may sound confusing so let’s explain.
If you have an unskilled SMP practitioner then the answer may be no. However if your SMP practitioner is experienced and has mastered his/her craft, then the answer will be yes. That’s why it’s vital to work with a reputable clinic.
How to Find a Reputable Clinic
Now you may be wondering, “Well how do i find a reputable clinic or know that the SMP I have found is reputable?” Great question!
There are a few ways to find a skilled SMP practitioner.
- Ask around! Friends/Family may know someone who did work for them or someone they know, and that can be a great way of getting recommendations.
- Look online. See how clinics are reviewed on Google and Yelp. Of course sometimes there may be disingenuous reviews, so make sure to read multiple reviews to get a better picture.
- Make sure the SMP practitioner is experienced, this is vital as blending the pigment of a tattoo is no easy task, and takes experience to do well at.
- Make an Appointment. In the end the only way for you to truly know if someone is skilled is to meet them in person, prepared with questions for them to answer. If they answer adequately, have good reviews/reputation then you can be confident you have found the right clinic.
After you have found a quality practitioner, you can be confident that the blending will be done to your liking. Some people will need more blending than others, based on a couple of factors such as what you’d like the end result to look like and the amount of hair loss.
At Scalp Evolution we understand that blending is super important to obtain a natural look, which is what the goal of SMP is. If you have any other questions regarding scalp micropigmentation, feel free to contact us here.
